Faculty Members from the University Department of Psychology Participate in a BIP Project Summer School in Hungary

From July 6 to 10, 2026, a summer school was held in Budapest as part of the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) project titled Understanding and Healing War Trauma: Theoretical Considerations and Practical Applications. The event was jointly organized by the Catholic University of Croatia, the Pázmány Péter Catholic University in Budapest, and the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. The virtual component of the summer school took place on June 29, providing an opportunity for the participants to introduce themselves and for the professors to briefly outline their lectures.

Associate Professor Martina Knežević, PhD, and Assistant Professor Lana Batinić, PhD, from the University Department of Psychology, participated in the BIP program, which was designed for psychology students. In their interactive lectures in Budapest, they spoke about the relationship between trauma and attachment, secondary traumatization, as well as collective trauma and resilience, supporting their presentations with the results of the project Family Dynamics, Health and Wellbeing of Croatian Families in the Light of War and Postwar Experiences, which was led by Professor Knežević.

Following the morning lectures and time dedicated to student group projects, the afternoon hours featured organized visits to numerous sights in Budapest, including the Hungarian Parliament. In addition to seven female students from CUC, the BIP program was attended by students from Poland, Hungary, France, and Slovenia.
