Professors Labaš and Kanižaj Lecture at the Education and Teacher Training Agency Meeting

The Head of the University Department of Communication Studies, Professor Danijel Labaš, and the Head of the Center for Media Literacy, Professor Igor Kanižaj, delivered invited lectures at the intercounty professional meeting of the Education and Teacher Training Agency (AZOO) titled "Artificial Intelligence and Media Education in Primary Education." The professional meeting, held in Rijeka on Friday, July 10, was attended by 150 primary education teachers.

Our professors delivered four lectures focusing on the challenges of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in everyday life and the educational system, as well as the possibilities of using artificial intelligence in primary school classrooms. Most participants also heard about algoethics for the first time as a potential response to contemporary digital challenges.

During the meeting, the CUC Center for Media Literacy was also presented to the participants. At the beginning of the gathering, Professor Igor Kanižaj expressed his special thanks to Ivana Jurjević Jovanović, Senior Advisor for Primary Education at AZOO, for whom this was the final professional meeting before her retirement. At the same time, he expressed his gratitude for her strong, multi-year support for the development of media literacy within the education system.
