Brief Overview of the Program!

Academic Title: University Master of History (univ. mag. hist.)

Duration of the Program: 4 semesters

Completion Requirements: At least 120 ECTS credits, passing all exams, and defending the master's thesis

In each semester, students enroll in mandatory and elective courses (at least 30 ECTS credits). Typically, students are assessed in all courses throughout the semester through continuous knowledge checks (midterms, tests…) and various educational activities in lectures, seminars, and exercises (70% of the final grade) and the final exam (30% of the final grade). This model encourages students to learn continuously and master the course material more effectively.

What Will You Learn?

At this level of education, students will deepen their knowledge and refine the skills acquired during the university undergraduate program, such as critical thinking and independence in work, mastery of research methodology, and skills for creating and presenting scholarly work. The University Graduate Program in History allows students to progressively specialize, moving from fundamental education to increasing specialization.

Program for Acquiring Teaching Competencies

The Program for Acquiring Teaching Competencies (PN) is a lifelong learning program. Integrating the PN with the studies offered by the University has proven necessary to ensure the acquisition of competencies that qualify students for work in educational institutions.

Additional courses, which students attend and pass in this Program (psychological, pedagogical, didactic, methodological, etc.), enable them to acquire professional knowledge and skills such as:

  • Developing pedagogical competencies;
  • Engaging and motivating students to learn;
  • Creating and maintaining a stimulating learning environment;
  • Organizing learning topics;
  • Planning lessons and teaching-learning processes;
  • Assessing and evaluating knowledge.

Upon completion of this program, the student is issued a Certificate. This Certificate serves as proof that the student has met the conditions prescribed by the Act on Education in Primary and Secondary Schools (in accordance with Article 105) for work in a school institution and has earned 60 ECTS credits in pedagogical competencies. It also serves as one of the necessary conditions for taking the professional exam.

What After Completing the Program?

After completing the University Graduate Program, students will be qualified to work in state and public administration bodies, diplomatic service, media and publishing institutions, tourism, cultural, scientific, and other institutions, as well as in the educational system (primary and secondary education levels). Completing the university graduate program qualifies students for enrollment in a doctoral program.
