Psychology Professors at the 45th SRIP Conference in England

Faculty members of the Department of Psychology at the Catholic University of Croatia, Assoc. Prof. Sandra Nakić Radoš, Ph.D., and Maja Žutić, Ph.D., participated in the 45th Annual Conference of the Society for Reproductive and Infant Psychology (SRIP), held at the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom, from 26 to 28 August 2025.

Assoc. Prof. Nakić Radoš served as a member of the conference program committee and took part in the SRIP board meetings. She also presented findings from the CUC project MumHealth in a paper titled Resilience Buffers the Effects of Neuroticism on Postpartum Stress: Findings From a Longitudinal Study, highlighting the protective role of psychological resilience in the relationship between neuroticism and postpartum stress. She additionally co-authored abstracts within the INTERSECT collaboration symposium New insights into the understanding of childbirth-related posttraumatic stress disorder from the INTERSECT study: prevalence, etiology, impact, and unmet needs in mental health care, and a poster in collaboration with German colleagues on Investigating the German Translation of the Peripartum Depression Scale as a Measure for Peripartum Depression based on DSM-5 criteria. She also participated in the pre-conference workshop Perinatal Psychometrics on psychometrics in peripartum research and contributed to the SRIP mentoring program for young researchers from around the world.

Dr. Žutić presented part of the results from her doctoral dissertation Testing the Diathesis-Stress Model in Peripartum Depression: The Role of 5-HTTLPR/rs25531 Genotype, for which she was awarded the SRIP prize for the best doctoral dissertation. Her work provided empirical support for the diathesis–stress model in peripartum depression, demonstrating that certain genetic characteristics interact with stressful experiences during pregnancy in shaping the risk of depression during and after pregnancy. As part of the INTERSECT collaboration, Dr. Žutić also co-authored the abstract Mapping Risk for Childbirth-Related PTSD: The INTERSECT Study.
