Participation of HKS researchers at the CUC 2026 conference
The research team of the Catholic University of Croatia participated in this year’s CARNET User Conference CUC 2026, held in Rovinj from April 15 to 17. As part of a dedicated symposium, the team presented the results of a preliminary study within the BrAIn project, focusing on the use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in the context of the well-being of children and young people.
The research included 46 schools from 16 counties and more than 5,000 participants. It highlighted the strong presence of technology in students’ everyday lives, as well as the need for balanced, responsible, and pedagogically grounded use.
The results were presented on behalf of the team by Mario Pandžić, Matea Bodrožić Selak, and Lovro Knežević, in collaboration with project lead Marina Merkaš and researchers Ana Haramina, Ana Žulec Ivanković, Lana Batinić, Lana Ciboci Perša, Marija Šakić Velić, Snježana Mališa, Josip Ježovita, Toni Ćosić, and Petra Palić.
Guidelines for the responsible and pedagogically grounded use of artificial intelligence in education were also presented. In addition, a round table on the application of artificial intelligence in education was held within the symposium, featuring Lana Batinić and Matea Bodrožić Selak. Colleagues from the Office for Strategic Planning, Development and Projects, Ana Marija Ambrušec Ćavar and Martina Tolić, also contributed to the organization.
