Mission and Vision of our Library

Our basic mission is to provide access to literature and information sources for the purposes of carrying out and monitoring the teaching programs of the Catholic University of Croatia. We shape the funds in a balanced way - by respecting the general reference information task of the university libraries, but also by meeting the curricula of the current university components: Departments for History, Sociology, Psychology, Communication sciences, Nursing, School of Medicine and the Independent Chair of Theology.

We consider the education of students to master information and academic literacy to be an important part of our mission, and we will adjust our digital content accordingly.

We build our development vision on meeting the overall intellectual and spiritual needs of the university community, especially our own, but also the wider academic community. Therefore, in addition to building physical funds, we will monitor, direct and encourage these needs in a special way with digital content: by researching, creating, evaluating and referring to them.

The purpose of the Collective Catalogue of Croatian Libraries from the System of Science and Higher Education is to enable the service of finding information on printed and electronic sources available in more than 45 library catalogs of university, higher education and special libraries in the Republic of Croatia, including the catalog with the richest collection of the National and University Library in Zagreb. The collective catalogue contains metadata for more than 1,500,000 bibliographic records and provides information on the location of the found unit of library material, as well as information on its availability and the availability of copies for loan in real time.
