Professor Labaš at the Catechetical Day of the Diocese of Poreč and Pula

The Catechetical Day of the Diocese of Poreč and Pula was held at Pazin College, bringing together catechists, religious educators, parish animators, religious sisters and priests ahead of the new school and catechetical year.

Prof. Danijel Labaš, PhD, Head of the University Department of Communication Studies at the Catholic University of Croatia, delivered a lecture on digital technologies and artificial intelligence and their impact on children and young people. He highlighted both the benefits and challenges of the digital environment, with particular emphasis on the importance of developing media literacy and responsible use of digital technologies from an early age.

Participants also had the opportunity to learn more about the impact of smartphones and social media on the everyday lives of children and young people, as well as the role of parents, teachers and other adults in creating a safe and stimulating digital environment. Particular attention was given to the need for critical reflection on the content to which children and young people are exposed every day.
