Erasmus+ BIP Summer School begins at the Catholic University of Croatia
On Monday, July 13, 2026, the Catholic University of Croatia officially opened the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) Summer School entitled Higher Education Addressing the Erasmus+ Priority: Environment and Fight Against Climate Change, organized by the University's Laudato Si’ Centre for Christian Responsibility and Care for All Creation.
The programme was opened by Vice-Rector for Quality, Identity and Mission, Professor Ante Crnčević, PhD, who welcomed the international participants and emphasized the importance of international cooperation and the exchange of experience in the fields of sustainability and climate action.
The opening was followed by the panel discussion “Climate Action in Higher Education: Institutional Responsibilities and Project Opportunities,” moderated by Melike Pınarcıoğlu and chaired by Associate Professor Zoran Turza, PhD.
The panellists included Professor Branko Grisogono, PhD, Dr. Julije Domac, Dr. Branka Pivčević Novak from the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Green Transition, and Loredana Maravić, MSc, from the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth. The discussion focused on the role of higher education in promoting sustainability, implementing green policies, and advancing the Erasmus+ priority Environment and the Fight Against Climate Change, with particular emphasis on the importance of cooperation between academia, public institutions, and international partners.
The Summer School continues throughout the week with lectures, workshops, and the exchange of examples of good practice.
