Student education on employment in cooperation with the Croatian Employment Service
At the initiative of Assoc. Prof. Miriam Mary Brgles and the head of CISOK Zagreb I Terezija Horvat, students of the graduate study of sociology, as part of the course "Public Policy II: Social Policy", whose leader is Assoc. Prof. Petra Palić, participated in a series of targeted trainings that introduced them to key aspects of the employment process and career building.

The educations covered topics such as active job searching, CV and application writing (March 19, 2025), the selection process and job interview (March 24, 2025), and the work of a counselor at the Croatian Employment Service with practical examples (March 28, 2025). The first two workshops were held at the premises of the Catholic University of Croatia, while the third was conducted at the Career Information and Counseling Center (CISOK).

CISOK is an advisory center of the Croatian Employment Service intended for all those who want to improve their competences, receive guidance regarding career development and gain insight into the needs of the labor market. Through information, individual counseling and group workshops, CISOK helps users make thoughtful and informed decisions regarding education and employment.

We would like to thank the employees of CISOK Zagreb I, Teo Balen and Zlatko Majsec, who conducted the educations with great enthusiasm and expertise and shared their rich knowledge and experience with the students. Their engagement, with the support of the head of CISOK Zagreb I, Terezija Horvat, provided students with concrete insight into real employment processes, employers' expectations and the importance of developing their own professional skills.
Such education significantly contributes to the empowerment of students to enter the labor market, develops their competencies, encourages an active approach to job hunting and contributes to their long-term employability.
