On Thursday, March 20, 2025, undergraduate and graduate students of Sociology, Klara Puček, Nina Ivasović, Natali Pera, Beata Patljak, under the guidance of assistant Mateja Topić Crnoja, participated in the "III. EDUkarijera Conference - Through Education to the Professions of the Future" organized by the Croatian Chamber of Economy.

The aim of the conference was to provide information on the needs of the labor market, current trends in employment, legislative developments and quality human resources management through examples of good practice. Two panel discussions demonstrated the importance of training companies and individuals in order to strengthen the Croatian economy through various educational content and measures and to strengthen the resilience of Croatian companies due to crises and the lack of qualified labor.

The Croatian Chamber of Commerce conducts an annual survey of the needs for additional knowledge and skills in the labor market, and the results were presented at the conference. The aim of the survey is to gain insight into the practice of employers in training employees with the intention of harmonizing educational programs with the needs of the labor market, and with the purpose of increasing the competitiveness of the Croatian economy as a whole. On the other hand, by surveying citizens, insight was gained into the profile of an attractive employer, as well as the challenges they face when looking for a job.
