Professor Kanižaj gave a lecture at the Free Teaching Days in Bjelovar

On Saturday, April 26, 2025, Prof. Dr. Sc. Igor Kanižaj from the University Department of Communication Studies held a lecture "How to recognize media manipulation?" at the Free Teaching Days at the Bjelovar School of Economics and Bureaucracy.

Knowledge is actually the ultimate goal that we want to achieve while we are at this school. I would like you to go one step further, so that you can recognize relationships and put that into your life and then differentiate yourself from your peers and so that in the end no one can deceive you," Igor Kanižaj began the lecture.
 

Through examples in which it was necessary to recognize a fake photo or audio recording, Prof. Kanižaj wanted to emphasize the importance of knowing artificial intelligence tools and their "products" and show how important it is to be able to recognize manipulations. In order to attract attention to not so important news, the media often use exclamations, pronouns, metaphors and imperatives in headlines.
