Medical Student Nejla Bektić Part of the Winning Team at the EIT Health i-Days Competition
Our second-year medical student Nejla Bektić was part of the winning multidisciplinary team at the EIT Health i-Days competition held on 17 and 18 October 2025 at the University of Zagreb. The team won first place with their project MindBloom — an application for dementia prevention that promotes socialization, learning new skills, and maintaining cognitive functions.

EIT Health i-Days is a health innovation event — a workshop where students learn how innovation drives the world, fuels the economy, and improves our quality of life. It also helps participants develop essential soft skills such as constructive discussion, teamwork, and communication.
The Innovation Day is organized by the University of Zagreb as part of the EIT Health Innovation Days (i-Days) program. This initiative of the EIT Health Knowledge and Innovation Community takes place at more than 30 locations across Europe. By participating, the University of Zagreb joins a network of leading European universities with the shared goal of promoting innovation in health, healthcare, and health systems.
At the end of November, Nejla Bektić and her team will travel to Paris for the international Winners’ Event, where they will compete with the best teams from across Europe and have the opportunity to further develop their idea.
