Student Sociology Panel “Security Under Pressure: Lessons from Ukraine and the Middle East”
Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to the second student panel organized by our Department, titled “Security Under Pressure: Lessons from Ukraine and the Middle East,” which will be delivered by Prof. Mirko Bilandžić, PhD, Full Professor at the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb.
The panel will take place on Wednesday, 22 April 2026 at 11:00 AM, in the Blessed Alojzije Stepinac Hall.
In a time marked by intense geopolitical changes and security challenges, understanding developments in Ukraine and the Middle East is not only relevant but essential. In this context, the panel provides a valuable framework for deeper sociological reflection on contemporary global events. It is therefore a particular privilege to have the opportunity to hear Prof. Bilandžić, whose extensive academic and practical experience ensures a thorough, analytical, and highly relevant insight into these complex issues.
We would be delighted to see you attend in large numbers and to open together a space for discussion on topics that shape both our present and our future.
We look forward to welcoming you!
