"Yours Is the Strength, O Lamb" – A New Spiritual Song Inspired by the Book of Revelation
In a music video inspired by the Book of Revelation, alongside scenes of Croatian sacral and natural heritage, a prominent place is held by the relief of the Lamb from the chapel of the Catholic University of Croatia.
The song and music video "Yours Is the Strength, O Lamb" (Tvoja je snaga, Jaganjče), with lyrics and music composed by Assoc. Prof. Josip Bošnjaković, PhD, conveys a message of hope, strength, and comfort originating from faith in the risen Christ. Inspired by the seventh chapter of the Book of Revelation, the song speaks of those who come out of the great tribulation, of the Lamb who becomes their Shepherd and leads them to springs of living water, where God wipes away every tear from their eyes.
The central message of the song is expressed through the words: "Out of the great tribulation they came, robed in white, they stand before You, O Lamb, our Risen Lord" (Rev 7), recalling the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and showing that the faithful, through God's grace, have passed through that tribulation and now stand before the Lamb. Furthermore, the words "Yours is the strength, O Lamb, Yours is the joy, O Christ" emphasize how an individual, even amidst life’s hardships, can find renewed strength, joy, and meaning.
The song connects the experience of human vulnerability with the hope in the ultimate victory of life and love, which is also reflected in earthly life.
Particular value is added to the music video by numerous sites of Croatian spiritual, cultural, and natural heritage. Among them are the pre-Romanesque early Croatian Church of the Holy Salvation (Sv. Spas) at the source of the Cetina River, the spring of the Cetina River, the mosaic in the Parish of the Conversion of St. Paul in Zagreb's Retkovec neighborhood, and the Lamb mosaic on the pediment of the Đakovo Cathedral.
In a distinctive way, it is deeply meaningful that the video incorporates a detail of the relief of the Lamb from the chapel of the Catholic University of Croatia in Zagreb. This artistic depiction enriches the song’s symbolism and links its biblical message to the university community space, where faith, scholarship, education, and the human search for truth and meaning converge.
The video also features the sculpture of the Lamb by Silvestar Ninić, located in the Garden of Archangel Raphael at the Family Center of the Archdiocese of Đakovo-Osijek in Slavonski Brod; a painting of Mother Teresa by Smiljan Vicenco Popović housed with the Missionaries of Charity in Zagreb; as well as footage filmed at the "Fra Ante Sekelez" Rehabilitation Center in Vrlika and the Ćorić family homestead in Garjak.
In this way, the music video weaves the biblical symbolism of the Lamb into concrete realms of human life, care, fellowship, and hope—serving as a reminder that the strength of the risen Christ is not distant from daily human existence, but present precisely where closeness, encouragement, and love are needed most.
The author of the lyrics and music is Josip Bošnjaković, with arrangement and production by Željko Nikolin. Backing vocals are performed by Marta Nikolin, Vlatka Kopić Tena, and Darko Čuvidić, with electric guitar played by Drago Laban. The script for the music video was developed by Josip Bošnjaković and Mihael Kelbas, with videography and editing by Mihael Kelbas.
The song "Yours Is the Strength, O Lamb" is an invitation to recognize the hope that transcends tribulation and the love that grants humanity the strength to take new steps.
