Start of Classes in Doctoral Programs for the 2025/2026 Academic Year
On Friday, 24 October 2025, the beginning of classes for the doctoral programs History and Sociology: Values, Identity and Social Change in Croatian Society was marked. The gathering opened with a prayer led by Prof. Ante Crnčević, Ph.D., Vice-Rector for Quality, Identity and Mission, followed by a welcome address from Prof. Robert Antolović, Ph.D., Vice-Rector for Science.
In the 2025/2026 academic year, a total of fifteen students enrolled in the doctoral programs—seven in History and eight in Sociology: Values, Identity and Social Change in Croatian Society. The students were addressed by the program directors, Prof. Ivan Majnarić, Ph.D., and Prof. Gordan Črpić, Ph.D., as well as by Paula Zujić, a third-year doctoral student in Sociology, who spoke on behalf of the students. Prof. Stjepan Kušar, Ph.D., Chair of the Doctoral Studies, delivered the introductory lecture titled The Christian Intellectual Tradition.
Since the 2018/2019 academic year, when doctoral programs were first introduced at the Catholic University of Croatia, a total of 161 students have enrolled—71 in History and 90 in Sociology—while 19 students have successfully earned their doctorates (7 in History and 12 in Sociology).
