Professor Kanižaj Lectures at the 72nd Winter School of Geographers

Prof. Dr. Igor Kanižaj from the University Department of Communication Studies delivered a lecture on children and media in the educational environment at the 72nd Winter School of Geographers.

More than 200 participants attended the event, organized by the Agency for Education and Training and the Croatian Geographical Society, which took place from 8 to 9 January 2026 at the Antunović Congress Center in Zagreb. Prof. Kanižaj presented the results of the latest EU Kids Online research, which was conducted in Croatia last year under the coordination of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lana Ciboci Perša. Geographers from across Croatia showed strong interest in the research findings as well as in new media literacy programs in primary and secondary schools. The discussion highlighted the importance of continuous work with children and parents in developing media literacy competencies.
