The book "Contemporary Migrations and the Survival of the Nation" published by Školska knjiga by Associate Professor Tado Jurić from the University Department of History was presented at the Ministry of Demography and Immigration on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.

Introductory speeches at the presentation were given by the Minister of Demography and Immigration Ivan Šipić, the Rector of the Catholic University of Croatia, Prof. Željko Tanjić, and a representative of the book's publisher, Gordan Bukan Barberić.

The book was also discussed by the book reviewers, Assoc. Prof. Stjepan Šterc, Special Advisor to the Minister, and Prof. Ivan Rogić, retired full professor. In addition to them, the third reviewer of the book is Prof. Tihomir Cipek.

Assoc. Prof. Tado Jurić presented the key theses and conclusions of the book, which consists of five thematic levels (a) theoretical level, (b) European level, (c) Croatian level, (d) specific level, and e) analysis of EU demographic policies with an emphasis on concrete proposals for improving migration, integration and demographic revitalization policies.

"This extensive scientific work has as many as 431 A4 pages, is divided into five sections, and has 80 original maps and images, and 40 tables. It seeks to provide answers to numerous questions such as: Do large migrations happen by chance or are they managed by someone? Why do the political left, right, and middle currents have completely opposite opinions about migration? Is the import of "cheap" labor actually a concept of suppressing the price of labor in the EU? Why are many Europeans reluctant to accept large numbers of migrants from other continents? Is the thesis about "population replacement" paranoid? How is migration changing Croatian society and how is a new Croatian identity emerging, i.e., the "new us"? How can we even explain the emigration of Croatian citizens and their replacement with labor from Asia and Africa? What should the (new) migration, integration, and demographic policy of the Republic of Croatia look like? How can we preserve the nation?" emphasized the Croatian Emigrants' Association.
