Our PhD fellow Luka Poslon at the conference in Belgium

The conference "Building Trust in Health Data" was attended by Luka Poslon, our PhD student from the Digital Healthcare Ethics Laboratory ,  in Ghent, Belgium, from November 29 to December 1, 2023. The following institutions organised the conference: European Institute for Innovation through Health Data , Health Data Forum, Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto , and upscaling the worldwide univocal identification of medicines .

Many international and European professionals who apply AI in healthcare were present at the conference. This year's conference focused on critical health data challenges to be solved through the trustworthy use and reuse of high-quality data to improve care and continuously accelerate research.

The conference covered several subjects, including patient involvement in the healthcare process, the safety of medications for patients, and data utilisation for medical research. Trust in health data is a crucial requirement for enhancing patient outcomes and promoting medical research. Patient health and well-being depend heavily on medicine safety. Personalized medicine, clinical decision support, AI applications, medical research, and predictive analytics acknowledge the significance of health data, including electronic health records. To empower patients as participants in their treatment, patient-centred health care entails actively involving patients as partners in their care.
