Horizon Europe Implementation Day held at the Catholic University of Croatia

On Monday, September 22, 2026, the Catholic University of Croatia hosted Horizon Europe Implementation Day, a professional event dedicated to the implementation of projects within the Horizon Europe programme. Held in the University’s Aula Magna, the event brought together representatives of institutions involved in the programme’s implementation and experts from the European Commission, who provided participants with insights into key aspects of project management.

The participants were welcomed on behalf of the Catholic University of Croatia by Vice-Rector for Research Professor Roberto Antolović, PhD. Opening remarks were also delivered by Carmen Gruber from the European Commission Representation in Croatia, Hrvoje Meštrić, PhD, Director-General of the Directorate for Science and Technology at the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth, and Antonija Gladović, Director of the Agency for Mobility and EU Programmes.

The professional programme was opened by Roby Dall’Acqua from the Common Implementation Centre of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation, who presented simplifications within the Horizon Europe programme. Marta Aparicio spoke about grant management.

In the afternoon session, Angelo Strano and Flora Eszter Peto discussed bringing research results to the market, while Roby Dall’Acqua presented the Funding & Tenders Portal, the central platform for applying for and managing projects funded through European Union programmes. Each presentation also included time for questions and discussion with participants.

By hosting Horizon Europe Implementation Day, the Catholic University of Croatia provided a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience on the implementation of European research and innovation projects, as well as the practical challenges faced by participating institutions and beneficiaries.
