Faculty of Health Studies at the 12th Congress of the Croatian Association of Cardiology Nurses

Faculty members and students of the Faculty of Health Studies at the Catholic University of Croatia (CUC) participated in the 12th Congress of the Croatian Association of Cardiology Nurses (HUKMS), held in Makarska from 6 to 9 November 2025. The congress brought together leading experts in cardiology, intensive care, rehabilitation, and nursing care, and this year’s program featured numerous international lectures and a high level of professional content.

The Faculty was represented by Assist. Prof. Ivica Matić, PhD, Chair of the Congress Program Committee, who took part in the opening ceremony, chaired several sessions, and moderated thematic discussions.

We are especially proud to highlight the participation of our students, who delivered the following presentations:

Iva Petković

Preparation of Patients for Electrophysiology Procedures and Cardiac Pacing

Explantation of a Permanent Pacemaker

Tomislav Glavak

The Impact of Psychoactive Substances on the Cardiac Conduction System – A Case Report

When a Magnetic Field Silences an ICD – A Case Report

Aneta Domić

Participation in Educational Sessions

Through their involvement, CUC students demonstrated a high level of preparedness, professionalism, and motivation, and their presentations were recognized by specialists from clinical centers across Croatia.

The congress was marked by a strong international dimension, numerous practice-oriented lectures in highly specialized cardiology nursing, and active exchange of experience among clinical professionals, lecturers, and students. The participation of faculty and students from the Faculty of Health Studies once again confirms the high standard of education, research engagement, and strong integration of the Faculty within the professional and scientific community in healthcare.
