Dr. Maja Žutić and Students on Field Instruction for “Psychology of Rehabilitation”

Together with Senior Assistant Dr. Maja Žutić, students enrolled in the course Psychology of Rehabilitation participated in two field instruction activities in December, each focused on the practical application of knowledge and skills in the field of rehabilitation psychology.

On Monday, 1 December 2025, the students visited the Teaching and Clinical Centre of the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences (ERF), where the tour was led by Sanja Radić Bursać. The students were introduced to the multidisciplinary work of ERF professionals, attended a lecture on the Centre’s activities, and learned about the crucial role of psychologists and the broader team of experts (speech and language therapists, social pedagogues, special education teachers, and educational rehabilitators) in the assessment of children and adults. They also toured the Centre’s therapy rooms and, through a one-way mirror, observed an educational–rehabilitation therapy session with a child with autism spectrum disorder.

The following Monday, 8 December 2025, the students visited the Special Hospital for Medical Rehabilitation Varaždinske Toplice. Clinical psychologist and course associate Dr. Daria Vuger Kovačić delivered a lecture on the specifics of rehabilitation procedures in the hospital and the role of psychologists in the multidisciplinary team. After the lecture, the students toured the hospital and were introduced to the most advanced robotic systems used in comprehensive patient rehabilitation.

These field visits enriched the students’ knowledge and skills, providing them with valuable insight into the practical application of theoretical content, the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration, and contemporary approaches to rehabilitation.
