CUC Representatives at Universidade Católica in Lisbon
Representatives of the Catholic University of Croatia – prof. dr. sc. Jasna Ćurković Nimac, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation; Ms. Anamarija Čulo Bačarka, Head of the Office for International Cooperation; and doc. dr. sc. Ivica Matić, Head of the University Department of Nursing – participated in a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) hosted by Universidade Católica in Lisbon, focusing on the theme “Internationalization at Home as a Key to Inclusion and Diversity.”

During the programme, all participants presented the internationalization strategies of their respective institutions. Representing the Catholic University of Croatia, Vice-Rector Ćurković Nimac and Ms. Čulo Bačarka delivered the presentation. Both Ms. Čulo Bačarka and Dr. Matić actively participated in the entire programme, whose main outcome will be the creation of a handbook on the concept of Internationalization at Home, in which our University will also take part.

During the visit, Vice-Rector Ćurković Nimac held a meeting with prof. dr. sc. Peter Hanenberg, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, and with the Director of the Católica Doctoral School (CADOS). Their discussion centered around the possibility of the Catholic University of Croatia joining initiatives such as the European University Alliances and the European University Association, as well as the benefits and responsibilities these memberships entail. The Vice-Rector also met with prof. dr. sc. Catarina Duff Burnay, Dean of the Faculty of Human Sciences, principal researcher and board member of the Research Centre for Communication and Culture (CECC), and of the Centre for Studies on Portuguese-Speaking Peoples and Cultures (CEPCEP), along with prof. dr. sc. Susana Costa Ramalho, her deputy. In addition, a meeting was held with dr. sc. Adriana Martines, Head of the Department of Cultural Studies and board member of The Lisbon Consortium, and prof. dr. sc. Annimari Juvonen, the Consortium’s Executive Director. These meetings explored the potential for further scientific and academic collaboration.

The Faculty of Nursing at UCP Lisbon hosted doc. dr. sc. Ivica Matić, Head of the University Department of Nursing at the Catholic University of Croatia. During his visit, Dr. Matić met with prof. dr. sc. Amélia Simões Figueiredo, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing (Lisbon), as well as with dr. sc. Silvia Caldeira, dr. sc. Clara Roquette Viana, and dr. sc. Susana Abreu Miguel. The professors introduced him to the mission, structure, and key activities of their academic programmes and discussed possibilities for future academic and institutional cooperation.

This visit represents a step forward in strengthening the University’s international relations and advancing best practices in internationalization and knowledge exchange in nursing education.
