CUC alumni organized the screening of the documentary film "Sons of Western Slavonia"

On Thursday, November 14, 2024, the CUC Alumni Association organized the presentation and screening of the documentary film "Sons of Western Slavonia" by Dino Mataz and Mihael Puljić. The film talks about the extremely successful, but somewhat neglected, police-military operation Papuk 91', which liberated the important and vast territory of western Slavonia during the difficult moments of the creation of the independent Republic of Croatia.

The gathering was greeted by the rector of the Catholic University of Croatia, prof. Željko Tanjić, PhD, congratulating the authors of the film, especially our former history student M. Puljić. In addition, he encouraged the gathered students to learn from older colleagues gathered in the CUC Alumni Association and follow their example.

Acting President of the Alumni Association Filip Hren, PhD, and Mihael Puljić as one of the authors also gave a speech.

Before the actual presentation of the film, an interesting and instructive lecture about the historical circumstances that led to the operation was held by prof. Ivica Miškulin, PhD.
