The skills cabinet was equipped with grants from the European Social Fund through the project "Development of a new model of acquiring clinical skills through the implementation of professional practice in nursing studies" and funds from the Catholic University of Croatia.

In the Cabinet of Skills, classes are held for undergraduate nursing studies in the courses Basics of Health Care, Anesthesiology, Reanimation and Intensive Care, as well as courses in Medicine - First Contact and Virtual Patient. The cabinet is in the academic year 2022/2023. additionally equipped for teaching in the course Maternal and Newborn Health Care and Child Health Care. The basic characteristics of practical classes in the Skills Cabinet are the upgrading of previously acquired theoretical knowledge through lectures and seminars, work in small groups, the possibility of practicing and repeating all the necessary skills on models, and the presentation of skills that cannot be implemented in the classroom through video and web materials. Demonstrators, who are selected by the Professional Council of the Department of Nursing in accordance with the acts and regulations of the Catholic University of Croatia, are included in the performance of the exercises from the Basics of Health Care course. In the Cabinet, the education of volunteers in palliative care is additionally held, organized by the Department of Nursing of the Croatian Catholic University and the Association of Volunteers in Palliative Care La Verna.

The skills cabinet is equipped with the following devices: vital functions monitor, EKG devices (classic and mobile), defibrillator (classic and AED), aspirator, spirometer, mannequins for basic and advanced life support, nursing and childbirth and children's mannequins, defibrillator (classic and AED ), models for urinary catheterization, auscultation, endotracheal intubation, airway maintenance and models for causing blood and setting up a venous line, equipment for immobilization and transport of the injured, surgical instruments, hospital beds and transport beds, resuscitation carts, drugs, consumables and instruments, equipment cabinets, hand washer, florescent hand detector, laptop and LCD screen. A large part of the equipment, in the amount of HRK 430,000.00, was financed from the project "Development of a new model of acquiring clinical skills through the implementation of professional practice in nursing studies", while the other part of the equipment was financed from the Croatian Catholic University's own resources.

This Cabinet allows students to work with equipment and materials equal to those in the hospital system, which trains and prepares students to go on clinical exercises in health and social institutions.
