Professor Togonal Delivered a Lecture at the Professional Meeting of State Matura Examination Coordinators in Vodice
Organised by the National Centre for External Evaluation of Education, a professional meeting of state matura examination coordinators was held in Vodice on 2 and 3 March. An invited lecture was delivered by Marijana Togonal, PhD, Associate Professor at the University Department of Communication Sciences.

In her presentation entitled “Communication Under Pressure: Principles of Clear and Composed Communication in the State Matura System”, Professor Togonal addressed the challenges of communication in highly demanding and stressful situations, which are particularly pronounced during the implementation of the state matura. She emphasised the importance of message clarity, structured information and emotional regulation within an institutional context involving a large number of stakeholders – students, parents, teachers and administrative staff.
Special attention was given to strategies of composed communication in crisis and unforeseen circumstances, as well as to the role of examination coordinators in maintaining trust, transparency and professional communication standards. The lecture included theoretical insights from the field of rhetoric, along with concrete examples and recommendations applicable in the practice of the state matura system.
