Professor Brković at the International Teaching Skills Exchange (ITSE) Conference
Our faculty member, Prof. Vjera Brković from the University Department of History, participated in the international International Teaching Skills Exchange (ITSE) Conference, held in Šibenik on 10 and 11 April 2026 and organized by the Educational Incubator Šibenik.
This international conference brings together educators with the aim of exchanging knowledge, experiences, and examples of good practice in the field of improving teaching competences and the quality of education. More than 40 speakers and invited lecturers from Croatia and abroad took part, further highlighting the conference’s international relevance and professional significance.
Prof. Brković, together with the principal of Brodarica Primary School, Maja Morić Kulušić, delivered a plenary lecture titled “Reflective Teaching Practice as a Factor in the Quality of Pedagogical Work: The Example of Primary Schools in Šibenik-Knin County.” In their presentation, they shared research findings and emphasized the importance of reflective practice as a key element of teachers’ professional development and the enhancement of the educational process.
Participation in such international conferences contributes to raising awareness of the importance of planned and systematic professional development for educators, while also encouraging further reflection on improving pedagogical competences. At the same time, it creates opportunities for the exchange of knowledge and best practices and provides impetus for the development of new approaches and strategies for professional development at both local and national levels, aimed at the continuous improvement of educational quality.
