CUC students visit financial institutions
Over the past ten days, graduate students of sociology, communication studies, and history attending the elective course Personal Finance Management visited several financial institutions relevant to gaining practical knowledge for their course.
After more than two months of theoretical classes supported by real-life examples, the May curriculum traditionally includes field classes and discussions with experts from relevant institutions. This academic year, the students first visited the central bank, where they took part in an interactive lecture on the development of digital payments in the near future. In addition to the Croatian National Bank (HNB), the students were introduced to the methodology and results of the population income survey, as well as the household consumption survey conducted by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS). The final lecture was held at the Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (HANFA) on the topic of supervising non-banking financial institutions operating in Croatia.
Alongside Associate Professor Roman Šubić, PhD, from the Department of Sociology, lectures within the practical component of the course were delivered by experts from all three mentioned institutions. The educational programs carried out will certainly help students further develop their financial literacy.
