Asst. prof. Ježovita at the conference "Perspectives of society, science and art in the age of artificial intelligence" in Osijek

Assoc. prof. Josip Ježovita, PhD, from our Department of Sociology and Assoc. prof. Erik Brezovec, PhD, from the Faculty of Croatian Studies of the University of Zagreb participated in the conference "Perspectives of society, science and art in the age of artificial intelligence", held on December 5 and 6, 2024 at the Faculty of Philosophy in Osijek. They presented a lecture entitled "The education system and generative artificial intelligence - a systemic perspective".

In their presentation, they analyzed the mutual interaction and irritation of the education system, technology (generative artificial intelligence) and individuals, relying on the concept of autopoiesis and the operational closure and openness of social systems. Generative artificial intelligence represents a challenge for cognitive and social systems, but the education system is not subject to technological determinism. Instead, it influences the development of AI tools through its actions. At the same time, technology is viewed in a wider ecosystem that connects the individual, education and technology.
