Vice-Rector Crnčević Presents Certificate of Appreciation to Rev. Mladen Horvat, PhD, for Longstanding Support to CUC

On Thursday, October 15, 2026, in the Rectorate Council Room of the Catholic University of Croatia, the Vice-Rector for Quality, Identity, and Mission of the University, Prof. Ante Crnčević, PhD, met with Rev. Mladen Horvat, PhD, pastor of Our Lady Queen of Croats Parish in Toronto, Canada.

On this occasion, he presented him with a certificate of appreciation in recognition of deep gratitude for everything he and his parishioners have done for our University over the past twelve years. It is precisely thanks to the selfless donations and enduring support of the parishioners from Toronto that the vast majority of equipment was funded for the radio and television studio, which was solemnly blessed and opened for student use in May 2022. These funds facilitated the full outfitting of four editing suites, radio and television control rooms, and the studio spaces themselves. Modern audiovisual equipment was also acquired—including digital audio recorders, cameras, four television cameras, a mobile audio console, and remote-controlled PTZ cameras for live broadcast productions—providing students of communication studies and related fields with top-tier conditions for practical training and professional development.

Cooperation on outfitting the radio and television studio is not the only avenue of support that Rev. Horvat and his parishioners have extended to CUC. Priests working at the University frequently assist at Our Lady Queen of Croats Parish, celebrating Eucharistic liturgies and conducting educational sessions, while faculty members from our University regularly deliver lectures and participate in forums at the parish.
