Start of the second generation of the Program of specialist training nursing bachelors in emergency medicine
On Monday, November 4, 2024, classes began on the Specialist Training Program for Nursing Bchelors in Emergency Medicine for the second generation of students. The program is carried out in the Emergency Medicine Training Institute of the City of Zagreb and other teaching bases, based on an agreement with the Catholic University of Croatia as the provider of theoretical classes, and represents a significant step towards the improvement of health care in the Republic of Croatia.
The second generation, consisting of 27 students who are future specialists, were greeted on the first day of classes by the Director of the Teaching Institute for Emergency Medicine of the City of Zagreb Tanja Pandek, Assistant Director for Health Care Quality Marino Čanađija, Program Coordinator Vesna Mijoč and Deputy Director of the Croatian Institute for Emergency Medicine Assoc. prof. Damir Važanić, PhD, who also held an introductory lecture related to the organization of work in the emergency service.
Head of the University Nursing Department, Assoc. prof. Ivica Matić, PhD, emphasized the importance of specialist education for nurses and technicians. He pointed out that the knowledge and skills that the participants will acquire are crucial for providing quality and accessible emergency medical care. He also proudly presented that all first-generation students successfully completed their specialist education within the stipulated year, and he believes that the new students would master the education program just as successfully.
The total value of the project of specialized training of nurses and technicians of outpatient throughout Croatia is 13.2 million euros, and the funds are provided within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Program.
