Sociology students' debate about the state budget

On Monday, January 20, 2025, students of the second year of the graduate study of sociology at our University participated in a student debate on the state budget. At the final lecture of the Basics of Budgeting course, students actively present their acquired knowledge and debate social current affairs with a special emphasis on economic and political events that are reflected in the voting of the state budget as the most important document in the Croatian Parliament.

Under the expert guidance of Assoc. prof. Roman Šubić, PhD, students critically discussed economic topics that are currently current in Croatian society and that are important for the development of the local community. The best in their roles were: Lana Jergović as the Minister of Science, Education and Youth, then Beata Bistrović as the Minister of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy, and the third prize went to student Ignacija Babić who represented the role of the Minister of Defense. Student Ema Strbad took over the moderation of this debate and management of the entire program. Congratulations to our sociology students on a successful debate and constructive discussion!
