Professor Majnarić Delivered a Lecture in Kotor as Part of the "Archives Week at the Historical Archives of Kotor" Event

As part of the Archives Week event at the Historical Archives of Kotor (Montenegro), Professor Ivan Majnarić delivered a scientific lecture titled "Kotor at the Time of the Establishment of Venetian Rule – Echoes in Judicial-Notarial Records 1418–1421."

The lecture is also a result of science popularization activities within the Croatian Science Foundation project "Shaping the Territorial State in Late Medieval Croatia, Dalmatia, and Slavonia: Socio-Political and Administrative Changes" (CroDaSTrans, IP-2025-02-4345), and it attracted historians and history enthusiasts of the city of Kotor.

The focus of the presentation was on the analysis of Kotor's integration into the Venetian overseas system, the Stato da Màr, in the year 1420. This topic awaits further and deeper comparative research regarding the process of renewal and establishment of Venetian rule over the eastern Adriatic coast during the first half of the 15th century, especially in terms of specific local social and institutional conditions and their adaptation to the new political and legal circumstances.
