First Generation of CUC Communication Studies Students Reunites

On the initiative of their academic year coordinator, Assistant Professor Kristijan Sedak, PhD, the first generation of Communication Studies students, who studied at the Catholic University of Croatia from 2015 to 2020, gathered at this year's Te Deum. Today, they work in various media outlets, public relations agencies, and a few of them right here at CUC. On this occasion, they met with the leadership of the "Alumni CUC" Association and first-year graduate students, for whom Assistant Professor Sedak also serves as year coordinator. Answering their questions, they recalled shared memories and encouraged the current students in what awaits them upon graduation. This was followed by a cordial meeting with the Rector and social time with professors.

The first generation is remembered as hard-working and creative. They founded the Communication Studies Student Club "PRotagonisti," wrote for the first issues of the student magazine Kompas, and participated in photography competitions. They organized various panel discussions and round tables, filmed University events, and prepared and performed children's plays for St. Nicholas Day both at the University and in foster care homes. They invested special effort into celebrating the Day of the University Department of Communication Studies, preparing a rich and humorous program year after year. They also founded the klapa vocal group "Dobar pokušaj" (Good Try), later renamed "A Clapella," with which they performed again last year at the tenth anniversary of their department. Furthermore, they won the first student award "Mlada nada" (Young Hope) from the Croatian Public Relations Association (HUOJ) for their communication strategy "Pričaj mi o5". Recognizable, approachable, and collegial, they were a group that truly loved their studies, department, and CUC.

We wish them all much success and blessings in everything they do and look forward to seeing them at our University again!
