CUC Students Visit the Office of the President of the Republic of Croatia
Students of the Catholic University of Croatia visited the Office of the President of the Republic of Croatia as part of field coursework for the course Diplomatic and Consular Relations. Participating in the visit were international Erasmus+ exchange students alongside law and history students, accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Assoc. Prof. Kristian Turkalj, PhD, and Teaching Assistant Ivan Modrić.
The central component of the visit was a lecture delivered to the students by Ambassador Neven Pelicarić, Adviser to the President of the Republic of Croatia for Foreign and European Policy, entitled "A Diplomatic Cookbook."
The lecture was held in English, during which Ambassador Pelicarić drew on insights from his extensive diplomatic career to illustrate the distinct connection between diplomacy and gastronomy. He highlighted the role that shared culinary experiences and formal protocol meals play in fostering informal dialogue, strengthening bilateral relations, and advancing international cooperation, while also showcasing Croatian traditions, authentic regional values, and national culture on the world stage.
