CroDaSTrans project members participate in the national professional and scholarly conference for history teachers

Organized by the Education and Teacher Training Agency and the University Department of History at the Catholic University of Croatia, the national professional and scholarly conference for history teachers in the Republic of Croatia entitled “At the Crossroads of the Middle Ages and the Early Modern Period” was held in Zagreb on August 27 and 28, 2026.

The conference was also attended by members of the project team of the Croatian Science Foundation project “The Formation of the Territorial State in Late Medieval Croatia, Dalmatia and Slavonia: Socio-Political and Administrative Transformations” (CroDaSTrans, IP-2025-02-4345), carried out at the Catholic University of Croatia.

On the second day of the conference, Friday, August 28, 2026, a series of scholarly lectures was held. Assistant Professor Luka Špoljarić, PhD, from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Zagreb delivered a presentation entitled “Croatian Nobility and the Challenge of State-Building in the Late Middle Ages”, while Professor Ivan Majnarić, PhD, from the Catholic University of Croatia presented the topic “The Cetingrad congregatio generalis of 1527 and Expressions of the Pre-Modern Nation”.

The presentations were thematically and methodologically aligned with the research objectives of the CroDaSTrans project, with an emphasis on the processes involved in the formation of late medieval state and social structures, as well as transitional forms of politics and identity in the Croatian lands.
