Communication studies students visited the Jewish religious community "Bet Israel"

On Thursday, December 5, 2024, Communication Studies students visited the Jewish religious community "Bet Israel" in Zagreb.

 


The head of the library, Julija Koš, gave a lecture to the students about Jewish religious rites and customs, answered their questions about the Jewish faith, and explained many Jewish customs related to diet and liturgy, as well as the general way of life.

 


During the visit, they were presented with the topics of the way of life of Jews in Croatia, the specifics of Reformed and Orthodox Jews, but also about the relationship between men and women in religious ceremonies and the history of Jews in the world and in Croatia. They also had the opportunity to taste unleavened bread and tour the synagogue and other community facilities.

 


The visit was held as part of classes in the subject Reporting on religious topics under the guidance of Assoc. prof. Suzana Peran, PhD, and assistant Hana Kilijan, mag. comm.
