Opis
predmeta

This course enables students to learn about various aspects of criticism and modern journalism genres, develop advanced skills and knowledge necessary for successful work in journalism, with an emphasis on achieving excellence in practical aspects of work. A special goal is to encourage students into creative work and innovations in modern and hybrid journalism genres.

The course includes preparation for work in criticism in daily newspapers, cultural newspapers and magazines, radio, television and internet, as well as interaction of journalism with social media. It will also provide students with knowledge of competent writing on various literary, artistic, theatrical and musical topics in different modern journalism genres. Special emphasis is given to in-depth reporting and storytelling, feature writing, investigative journalism, profiles, editorials, data journalism and multimedia journalism.

To adopt concepts from the field of theatre, literature, film, music and literary criticism, cultural policy, and the specifics of modern print, agency, radio, television and online journalism in arts. Apply ethical principles when interviewing artists and cultural workers, writing reports from the field of culture, reviews of works of art and performances, and commentaries on cultural events, especially respecting truthfulness and debunking propaganda and fake news. Use skills to perform tasks in modern journalism, from reports, in-depth reportages and interviews, investigative and multimedia journalism, to critical analysis of works of art and critical reflection and evaluation of cultural policy, while respecting the specifics of various media. Analyze, interpret and compare professional literature in the field of theatre, literature, film, music and literary criticism, cultural policy, whereby, in addition to books, professional magazines and online publications for each artistic field should be chosen, collected, synthesized and evaluated.
