Professors Bara, Kekez and Šešo stayed at Afyon Kocatepe University in Turkey as part of the Erasmus+ program

From 7 to 11 April 2025, as part of the Erasmus+ programme, Associate Professor Mario Bara from the University Department of Sociology and Professor Hrvoje Kekez from the University Department of History, and Professor Luka Šešo from the Faculty of Law, were on teaching mobility at Afyon Kocatepe University in Afyonkarahisar, Turkey.
 


During their stay, our professors held a series of lectures and had numerous meetings with Turkish colleagues. They met with Prof. Hüseyin Koçak, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, and with Prof. Gürsoy Şahin, historian, expert in the history of the Ottoman Empire. During their stay at Afyon Kocatepe University, a very well-attended round table was held on the topic of historical and contemporary migrations to Turkey and Croatia, which was attended by our professors, asst. prof. Fethi Nas, Osman Metin, PhD, prof. Fatma Dore, asst. prof. Ahmet Ayhan Koyuncu, Serhat Toker, PhD, Mehmet Erkol, PhD, asst. prof. Badr Sala, asst. prof. İlteriş Yıldırım, Muhammed Salim Danış, PhD.
 

In addition to the academic staff, during their stay, our professors also held a meeting with Assoc. Prof. Volkan Yüncü, Head of the International Relations Office, and the topic of the meeting was further cooperation opportunities within the Erasmus+ program. It should be noted that our professors were the first university professors to visit Afyon Kocatepe University as part of the Erasmus+ program. The host of the stay was Assoc. Prof. Fethi Nas from the Department of Sociology.
