Prayer before an exam

The winter exam period is just around the corner, a time when students show what they have learned during the past semester. On this occasion, we bring you a prayer before an exam from our university chaplaincy.

Holy Spirit, source of wisdom and knowledge, illuminate my heart and my mind with the radiance of your light!
Grant me wisdom, knowledge, and understanding! Guide my whole being and lead me on the path of perseverance, truth, and the desire to do Your will!

Into Your hands I place my effort and my inability to understand certain parts of this subject, asking for the grace of success, if it is Your will in this period of my studies.

May every success of mine be a prayer of gratitude for Your goodness in my life, and every failure a call to humility! Do not let me forget that all knowledge and every success are in vain if You are not their source! Grant me the grace of good memory of all that I have learned and calmness while answering the assigned questions!

Above all, free me from the spirit of cheating, by which I offend You, my colleagues, and the whole society I am sent to serve through diligent work! Lead me on the path of honesty and make me content with the result I earn through my own effort.
Bless my professors, that through their selfless work they may glorify Your name!
