New Adris Project Led by Assoc. Prof. Filip Galović at Our University
In September 2025, the Adris Foundation, one of the largest corporate foundations in Europe, announced the results of its competition for grants and scholarships. Among only twelve approved projects within the Knowledge and Discoveries Program is the project Research and Study of Croatian Local Dialects: Contributions to Croatian Dialectology, led by Assoc. Prof. Filip Galović, Ph.D.
According to the project leader, this initiative brings together several distinguished Croatian linguists from various institutions – the University of Zadar, the University of Pula, the University of Split, and the Institute for Linguistic Research of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts. The aim of the project, which will run until mid-2027, is to research and study the speech of several Croatian settlements. These have been carefully selected to represent all three Croatian dialect groups: Čakavian, Kajkavian, and Štokavian.
This approved Adris project is wonderful and important news for our academic community, for Croatian linguistics, and for Slavic studies more broadly. Warm congratulations to Assoc. Prof. Filip Galović, Ph.D., and the entire project team!
