Filip Hren, PhD, participated in the conference "War and Military-Political Alliances in the Modern and Contemporary History of Central Europe: Strengths, Limits, Challenges"

From 19 to 21 March 2025, Senior Assistant Professor of the University Department of History, Filip Hren, PhD, participated in an international scientific conference held at the premises of the Military Museum in Prague entitled "War and Military-Political Alliances in the Modern and Contemporary History of Central Europe: Strengths, Limits, Challenges". The conference, which brought together scholars from a dozen European countries, was organized by the Institute of Military History (Prague), the Institute of Contemporary History of the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the Czech Committee of the International Commission on Military History.
 


Filip Hren, PhD, participated with a presentation entitled "The Confederation of Graz 1620: The search for protection or the pursuit of elites' "private" interests?" in which he analyzed the military-diplomatic background and possibilities of the negotiations on an alliance conducted between the Croatian-Slavonic and Inner Austrian nobility in the summer of 1620.
