CUC Signs Three New International Agreements During FUCE General Assembly

During the General Assembly of the European Federation of Catholic Universities (FUCE) held at the Catholic University of Croatia, Rector Professor Željko Tanjić signed three new Memoranda of Understanding on behalf of the University with prominent international higher education institutions: Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw, Ignatianum University in Kraków, and Antonine University in Lebanon.

The new agreements represent an important step in the further international positioning of the Catholic University of Croatia and open space for more intensive academic and scientific cooperation through joint research projects, faculty and student exchanges, the development of joint study programs, and the organization of international conferences and summer schools.

Cooperation with Polish universities further strengthens CUC's ties with Central European academic institutions, particularly in the fields of humanities, social sciences, and philosophy. CUC has maintained fruitful cooperation with Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw for many years, also collaborating within the Erasmus+ and Erasmus Mundus programs.

Ignatianum University is one of the leading Catholic and Jesuit universities in Europe and an active member of international Catholic academic networks, including FUCE. The agreement with Antonine University further expands the international presence of the Catholic University of Croatia in the Middle East and Mediterranean region, opening new opportunities for intercultural and interreligious academic cooperation, especially in the context of dialogue, peace, and social resilience.

Following the official program, the General Assembly directly resulted in the expansion of international activities. Consequently, the Catholic University of Croatia initiated the process of concluding agreements with three additional universities: Mary Immaculate College in Dublin, Abat Oliba CEU University in Barcelona, and Università Europea di Roma.

The new international agreements confirm the strategic focus of the Catholic University of Croatia toward stronger integration into the European and global higher education area. Indeed, strengthening international cooperation, developing joint programs, and academic mobility were key themes of this year's FUCE General Assembly held in Zagreb.
