CUC professors at the round table of the World Youth Federation in Croatia

In the week from November 11 to 15, 2024, the 12th week of the World Youth Federation Croatia was celebrated. In a series of activities that SSHM organized on this occasion, on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, a round table on the topic of modern trends in the family was held at the Croatian Catholic University. In it, along withprof. Marijana Bijelić from the Faculty of Philosophy, Gabrijela Lukić from the Association of Youth for the Homeland, and prof. Ivana Brstilo Lovrić, head of the University Department of Sociology and prof. Lana Batinić from the University Department of Psychology. The discussion was moderated by a former student of our University Department of Communication, Jelena Franić.

 


The modern trend discussed by the participants of the round table was couples who have double income and no children (DINK - dual income, no kids). Some of the topics discussed by the panelists were the mental health of young people today, the rise of individualism and consumerism in the context of marriage and family planning, how the role of women in the family and the business world has changed, the issue of Sunday capitalism in relation to family life and quality spending of free time times, and the expectations and challenges that young people face today.
