Asst. Prof. Francesca Giordano from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Milan) on Erasmus+ Mobility

As part of the Erasmus+ staff and teaching mobility programme, Asst. Prof. Francesca Giordano from the Faculty of Psychology at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore) visited our University from 17 to 21 November.

During her stay, she met with the Rector, Prof. Željko Tanjić, the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Prof. Jasna Ćurković Nimac, as well as the Head of the CUC Department of Psychology, Asst. Prof. Dragan Glavaš. Since Prof. Giordano has previously collaborated with our academic community through the international summer school Practicing Resilience – Preparing for Recovery, discussions were held about possibilities for continuing cooperation on other projects. On Tuesday, 18 November, together with CUC representatives, Dr. Giordano visited Škabrnja as part of the Remembrance Day of the Victims of the Homeland War in Vukovar and Škabrnja. From Wednesday to Friday, she delivered the programme Tutors of Resilience: Growing and Flourishing in the University Path, developed by the resilience research working group at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.

The programme was attended by first-year undergraduate psychology students enrolled in the elective course Youth Mental Health, taught by Asst. Prof. Lana Batinić, with Dr. Ana Haramina and Katarina Užarević, univ. mag. psych., as course collaborators. They joined an international group of students who had already participated in the programme from Oregon State University (USA), Universidad Bernardo O’Higgins (Chile) and Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. Our students were highly motivated and engaged throughout the three-day programme, and in early December they will take part in an international online panel on learning resilience across different cultures, where they will share their experiences.
