Associate Professor Jurić at the International Conference “Migration and Migrants: Challenges and Responses”

Assoc. Prof. Tado Jurić, Ph.D., from the Department of History, participated in the international conference “Migration and Migrants: Challenges and Responses”, held on Tuesday, 11 November 2025, at the Rijeka City Hall, where he delivered an invited lecture titled “Two Faces of Migration and Integration in Croatia: Refugees from Ukraine and Migrants – How They Shape Demography, the Labor Market, and Social Cohesion.”

In his presentation, Prof. Jurić addressed Croatia’s demographic challenges, emphasizing that the country lacks a clear integration and demographic strategy. He underlined the urgent need for a comprehensive state policy on migration management — one that would work to prevent and reduce the emigration of young people from Croatia while ensuring more effective control over the influx of foreign workers.
