Unicath dialogues - „Can AI be my friend?“

On Wednesday, November 25, 2026, starting at 6:30 PM in the "Bl. Alojzije Card. Stepinac" Hall, the theological forum "UniCath Dialogues" will take place—the second in a new series of panel forums scheduled over the coming months.
The theme of this forum is "Can AI Be My Friend?", featuring panelists for this academic year Prof. Marina Merkaš, PhD, and psychology student Klara Pažin.
UniCath Dialogues (theological forums) of the Catholic University of Croatia establish an academic forum to engage with key theological questions of the Catholic faith and its role in shaping individuals and communities. In an equally broad sense, they raise questions concerning humanity and community that inform and shape the Catholic faith.
These forums serve as spaces for inclusivity, observation, and dialogical tension through thought, word, encounter, and the search for that unity (uni-versitas) which synthesizes the understanding of humanity and the surrounding world. The Catholic dimension (cath) illuminates what is universal and unifying, highlighting what connects and reconciles in openness to the entirety of the human experience. The open horizons of dialogical thought are realized through the dynamics of internal and external dialogue, requiring engagement with incisive questioning and the truth that "wounds."
Although held within the academic community, the forums are open to the general public and all interested participants.
