The list of learning outcomes (abbreviated below as «IU», after Croatian «ishod učenja») at the level of the study programme, organised into four main components, is as follows:

 

Knowledge and Understanding
  • IU 1 Form critical judgement on historical development of individual fields of law; 
  • IU 2 Evaluate the meaning of the concept of the rule of law in the context of a State based on the rule of law; 
  • IU 3 Form critical judgement on fundamental legal concepts, legal institutions and legal sources of individual fields of law; 
  • IU 4 Re-examine the organisation, structure and functioning of the legal system and the State as a whole as well as the Republic of Croatia’s constitutional order, as well as the Republic of Croatia’s legal position in the European
  • Union and broader international community; 
  • IU 5 Compare mutual relations between national, European and international regulations; 
  • IU 6 Compare the role and competences of the Court of Justice of the EU, the European Court of Human Rights and other international judicial bodies vis-à-vis national courts; 
  • IU 7 Form judgement on substantive and procedural rules and course of procedure providing legal protection. 
Application of Knowledge and Understanding 
  • IU 8 Compare law and other relevant scientific disciplines; 
  • IU 9 Form judgement on legal sources, scientific and professional literature; 
  • IU 10 Form critical judgements on relevant case law of the European Court of Human Rights, the Court of Justice of the EU and other international judicial bodies with regard to resolving specific legal issues; 
  • IU 11 Form critical judgement on relevant legal rules from individual fields of law on selected examples; 
  • IU 12 Draft a legal act using relevant rules of substantive and procedural law. 
Presentation and Communication 
  • IU 13 Present the ability to use legal terminology in Croatian and one or more foreign languages; 
  • IU 14 Defend a position in a clear and precise manner orally and in writing; 
  • IU 15 Present arguments for an opinion in a structured professional paper using scientific and professional literature; 
  • IU 16 Present arguments for a position in a specific legal issue; 
  • IU 17 Present the ability to use modern information and communication technologies. 
Learning Skills and Ethical Principles
  • IU 18 Support ethical principles and professional integrity for practising legal profession; 
  • IU 19 Demonstrate creativity and a systematic approach to problem solving; 
  • IU 20 Develop independence and responsibility in work, as well as awareness of the need for life-long learning.
