Students Visit Montessori School as Part of the Course “Theory of Education in Practice”
As part of the course “Theory of Education in Practice,” led by Assist. Prof. Bruno Matijašević, PhD, from the University Department of Sociology at the Catholic University of Croatia, students of sociology, history, theology, and psychology visited the Baroness Dédée Vranyczany Elementary Montessori School—the only primary Montessori school in Croatia—on Monday, 20 April 2026.

Following an introductory theoretical presentation delivered by a member of the school staff, students had the opportunity to observe and try Montessori didactic materials and to participate in classroom teaching across several grade levels. As an additional component of the visit, students also toured a Montessori kindergarten, where they further explored and analyzed this alternative educational approach.
At the end of the visit, a guided reflection session was held, providing space for discussion and questions, allowing students to critically engage with their observations and experiences.
