Student Competition in Event Management

The Event Management Competition (EMC) is a unique project organised by the Croatian Student Association (HSA). During the competition, students have the opportunity to present their creative ideas and organisational skills, gain new knowledge in event management through an educational workshop, and collaborate with professionals from the event management industry.
 

The competition is open to all students. No prior knowledge or experience is required—only proactivity, motivation and an interest in event management. The best teams will win cash prizes and professional internships in event organisation. An invaluable networking opportunity is provided through partner agencies and project sponsors, who will form the professional jury in the final round.

The aim of the project is to provide students with opportunities for education, professional development, career growth and networking. EMC is intended to serve as a first step into the event management industry for students interested in this field, enabling them to gain knowledge and experience through practical examples and tasks.

The competition consists of two rounds, and participants will attend an educational workshop before the first round. The workshop and the final will be held at Wespa Spaces Zagreb. Applications are open until 12 March 2026.

Schedule:

14 March – Workshop (in person; at least one team member must attend)
21 March – Competition (online)
• Round 1 – multiple-choice questions
• Round 2 – descriptive questions
11 April – Final (in person) – solving a task assigned by the professional jury (organising an event)
