Leali Osmančević, PhD, held a workshop on critical analysis of the series "Shame"
On Saturday, April 5, 2025, the fourth national meeting "Signs of Hope - How to Convey Hope and Meaning to Young People Affected by Meaninglessness" was held, organized by the Točka Association and the Evo Me Project. The thematic conference brought together numerous experts and approached the topic of hope and hopelessness and the search for meaning and the role of youth togetherness in contemporary society in an interdisciplinary manner. The first part of the program was dedicated to lectures and a plenary discussion, while after the Holy Mass in the Church of St. Mother of Freedom, a series of thematic workshops were held for young people and all interested parties.

Leali Osmančević, PhD, held a workshop through two thematic sessions entitled "Finding Hope Between the Lines - A Critical Analysis of the SRAM Series" and analyzed the characters and plot, as well as clips from the popular Croatian adaptation of the Norwegian series Skam, with the participants. The SRAM series quickly gained exceptional popularity among the Croatian audience, precisely because of its immediacy, authenticity and realistic depiction of the challenges and problems of young people and their everyday lives. Topics such as anxiety, peer violence, family problems, identity, love and acceptance were presented in such a way that the critical perception of the viewer can encourage empathy, reflection and open dialogue, which the participants of this workshop themselves practically experienced.

The workshop discussed how media content can serve as a tool for opening up important topics among young people, and how by analyzing serial narratives we can raise awareness of deeper messages and encourage conversation about hope, belonging, and empowerment in a time that often seems confusing and uncertain. The workshop showed how willing young people are to actively reflect on the challenges they face and how much a space where they feel seen, heard, and included means to them.
